How Vmgo Works For Webmasters

Vmgo.com is a new type of search engine giving users the power to control the results of the searches.

We give you (webmasters) the power to submit any/all pages from your site and place them under any keyword/keyphrase you choose. If you submit a page to a keyword, the page you submit should be about that keyword. If you submit a page about apples to the keyword oranges, it will eventually get reported as spam and will be blocked from showing in the results.

You must remember that our users have the power to promote your pages and demote your pages as they see fit. If your site does not contain info on the keyword they searched for, you can be sure someone will report it as spam and it will be blocked from showing in the results for that keyword.

We do not have a web spider. Web spiders waste your bandwidth and cost us way too much to run. That is why we require you to submit each individual page to the keyword you choose. You know better than any web spider could ever know what keywords your pages should be listed for. This also creates higher quality results for our users and gives you the webmaster the freedom to make your listing say whatever you want it to say.

We do have a simple web spider that will gather the information from the page you are submitting to us to help you fill out the submission form faster. It will simply grab the title of your page and the description from your meta tag. If you do not have a description meta tag, it will grab the first 1000 characters of text from the body of your page. If somehow it doesn't work for you, simply fill out the form instead of using the spider.

At the top of every results page, you will see a random site at the top of the results. This allows every site/page the chance to be #1 in the results giving everyone a little traffic sometimes and the chance to get votes. When someone clicks on your link and visits your page, your listing will recieve a vote. Rankings are not recalculated every time someone clicks so you may not notice a change in the results right away.

Keywords that get very little searches may not ever change much. Feel free to vote your links to the top of the results but remember that if it gets reported as spam, and we check it out and it is spam, it will never rank under that keyword again.
