A young American man, Richard (Leonardo dicaprio), travels to Thailand. During a stay on Khaosan Road in Bangkok, he meets a mysterious man named Daffy (Robert Carlyle), who tells him about a secret beach paradise. Richard then heads for southern Thailand in search of the island. Along the way, he is befriended by a young French couple, Françoise (Virginie Ledoyen) and Étienne (Guillaume Canet), and he shares the secret of the island with them. The three then strike out across the water with inflatable bags and whatever they can carry. They reach the island, where they find a huge marijuana plantation. Heading further inland, they eventually find the hidden beach, where a small, suspicious clan of Western travellers has settled, and is led by a strong-willed woman, Sal (Tilda Swinton). The three newcomers then struggle to find their place in the Utopian community.

Over 200 people joined in synchronous dance on their towels to the music of Australian music icon Ben Lee in a perfectly choreographed routine that amazed onlookers. It started with one, lone individual, who walked through the crowd of sunbathers and surfers and placed his boombox on the sand in the middle of the crowded beach and pressed play. What followed was a contagion of rhythm and dance as one by one other beachgoers joined in began surfing on their towels. They kicked their feet, paddled with their hands and bobbed up and down checking for waves all while remaining on their towels, dry on the pristine sand of Bondi Beach.

Bloody omaha was created by Colin Thornton, Neil Wilson and Steven Flynn who run the graphics company Compost Creatuve . www.Compostcreative.com The music used Is Two Tribes by Frankie goes to Hollywood. Team Compost headed out to Omaha Beach for 4 days armed with a Z1 camera, a pop up greenscreen, some soldier uniforms and 2 rubber rifles (we couldnt afford 3), and begun the process of covering the beach (with camera on the cliff top), and re-enacting the veterans moving accounts. When back in London (and back in our real day job) we began to piece together all wed shot using adobe after effects, (and a little 3d modelling in maya) turning the 3 of us into the invading US army. 6 Weeks later the work was completed and provides a moving insight to the US veterans memories of storming Omaha beach, for BBC 2's Timewatch: Bloody Omaha.
