Assalama Alaykum wa Rahmat Allahi wa Barakatu. This was the incredibly short and to-the-point speech given by the first and greatest successor of Rasul Allah (S), the legendary Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq, the believing (R). If written, it would take no more than a paragraph or two on a piece of paper. Abu Bakr was brief, yet eloquent and to the point. But if measured on a scale, it would outweigh all of the political justice that exists in the world today. Can you imagine if the leaders of the world lived up to the justice contained in this speech? Can you imagine how much different the entire world would be if only the Muslims lived up to this? Khilafah Conference Britain 2007 - "Khilafah: The need and the method" Session 2 Talk 1: A View from the Muslim Street Speaker: Dr. Nasreen Nawaz The women of the Muslim world suffer under the current political and social climate in the Muslim World. The common perception is that it is Islam and regressive attitudes to women that is the cause for this. Dr Nazreen Nawaz will argue that in reality it is the absence of Islam that has created an appalling situation for women the world over. She will argue that it is only Islam, through the Khilafah, that can establish women as active citizens, whist retaining strong social family structures, and guaranteeing their safety and security.
