The Chinese Garden Court at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Narrated by Maxwell Hearn, curator, Department of Asian Art Recorded in 2003 Curator Maxwell Hearn describes the significance of the architectural and landscape design elements in the Chinese Garden Court at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Known as The Astor Court, this architectural treasure is a reconstruction of an authentic Ming dynasty garden courtyard in the city of Suzhou, west of Shanghai. It opened to the public in 1981 as a gift of the Vincent Astor Foundation, and includes an adjoining room that houses the Museum's collection of Chinese hardwood furniture. The Metropolitan Police is working with Transport for London, the London Cycling Campaign and the City of London Police to raise awareness amongst lorry drivers and cyclists of the difficulties faced by both groups when using the capital's roads. This video shows the limited vision that a driver will have of a cyclist even with the latest mirrors fitted to the lorry. Watch it to discover where you should avoid putting yourself when cycling near lorries in order to minimise your chance of being involved in a collision.

A man is harrassed by the Metropolitan Police whilst speaking his mind openly and freely in Oxford Circus, central London on the 24th January 2009 moments before another Free Palestine demonstration. I managed to teach the Policeman a little about the law on free speech, which he seemed to need a refresher course on; he then called in the Overt Filming team to try and intimidate us. It's a great British tradition to stand up for truth and free speech. We must all work together to prevent the UK turning into a Police State.

Johns has exploited the coloristic and metaphoric potentials of this tone since he emergence as one of America's most recognizable talents. Covering nearly fifty years of painting "Gray" was organized by the Art Institute of Chicago, and sponsored by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
